YITS CLAIM CONCERNING THE REFURBISHING OF SOKS HEAD OFFICE IN 1999 IS REJECTED. YIT WILL APPEAL THE DECISION.
In its ruling, announced on this day, the Helsinki District Court has rejected YIT Corporations claim concerning the conversion and additional works involved in the refurbishing of SOKs former head office building in 1999 as well as the additional expenses caused by the lengthening of the duration of the contract.
Instead, the District Court ordered YIT Corporation to pay Kiinteistö Oy Vilhonkatu 7, which is owned by SOK, a total of EUR 2.7 million in late delivery fines and other compensation with interest as well as litigation costs.
The rulings effect on YITs earnings amounts to about EUR -5.6 million. The sum will be recorded in YITs financial results for the first quarter of 2003. YIT will appeal the decision.
