TIMO LEHMUS TO HEAD INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS AT YIT’S CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

At YIT’s Construction Services, Timo Lehmus (45), M.Sc. (Eng.), has been appointed as the head of the International Operations division; the current head of the division, Mikko Rekola, M.Sc.
(Eng.), will retire in March 2005, as agreed in his employment contract. Lehmus has previously served as the head of the Building Construction division. He will gradually take on the duties of his new position by March to ensure the hitch-free continuity of functions.

In YIT’s international business operations, residential construction is seeing strong growth in Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The construction of over 2,800 market-financed residences was started up in the first half of the present year.
The bulk of the growth in YIT’s residential construction will come from Russia. In the next few years, YIT aims to achieve market shares of 10 per cent in St Petersburg, 5 per cent in the Moscow region and 10-15 per cent in the Baltic countries.

Pasi Suutari (35), M.Sc. (Eng.), has been appointed as the head of the Building Construction division in Finland as from October 1, 2004. He will transfer into the position from his current post as the regional director of the division’s southwest Finland unit.
