REINO HANHINEN TO CONTINUE AS CHAIRMAN OF YITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
At its organizational meeting on March 14, 2006, YIT Corporation's Board of Directors re-elected Reino Hanhinen, M.Sc. (Eng.), as its chairman. Hanhinen was managing director of YIT Corporation from 1987 to 2005. He has been a member of YITs Board of Directors since 1988 and chairman of the Board from 1989 to 2000 and since beginning of 2006. Eino Halonen, M.Sc. (Econ.), managing director of Suomi Mutual Life Assurance Company, was elected as vice chairman. Halonen has been a member of YITs Board of Directors since 2000 and the vice chairman of the Board from 2003 to 2005.
The Board of Directors also includes Sari Baldauf, M.Sc. (Econ.), Antti Herlin, chairman of Kone Corporations Board of Directors and Teuvo Salminen, deputy CEO of Jaakko Pöyry Group Oyj.
Eino Halonen was elected as chairman and Teuvo Salminen and Reino Hanhinen as members of the Audit Committee. It is the task of the Audit Committee to assist the Board of Directors in the supervision of the YIT Groups reporting and accounting processes.
