Changes in YIT’s business segment structure and organization

On June 1, 2005, Services for Industry and Data Network Services will be combined to form a new business segment: Industrial and Network Services. Pekka Frantti will be the president of the new segment.

At present, YIT’s business operations are divided into four business segments, which are Building Systems, Construction Services, Services for Industry and Data Network Services. The business segment structure will become more closely knit on June 1, 2005, when Services for Industry and Data Network Services will be merged to form a single business segment: Industrial and Network Services. In addition, the industrial electricity, automation and HEPAC businesses of YIT Building Systems’ finnish subsidiary YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy will be transferred into this new business segment in Finland at the beginning of 2006. The new business segment will have a payroll of about 4,600 people.
The total revenue from the business functions that will be included in the segment amounted to over EUR 400 million in 2004.

YIT Corporation’s Board of Directors decided to appoint Pekka Frantti (40 years old), M.Sc. (Eng.), as the president of the new Industrial and Network Services business segment. He will take over his new duties from his position as director of YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy’s Regional activities and Security Systems division. He has gained across-the-board experience in international management tasks in production, marketing and exports at numerous technical units at ABB from 1988 onwards.
Pekka Frantti will report to Group CEO Reino Hanhinen.

The merger of the small business segments will foster efficiency in the management and administration of the Group and the business segment alike. The combination of resources improves opportunities for the development of maintenance-related processes and outsourcing concepts in industry and electricity and data networks. The technological and business synergy benefits imparted by the new business segment enable a greater range of more efficient total deliveries and services.

Matti Malmberg to be president of YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy

Matti Malmberg (45 years old), M.Sc. (Eng.), will be the president of YIT Building Systems’ finnish subsidiary YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy as from the beginning of 2006, when Antti Rantanen (59 years old) will retire, as agreed in the terms of his employment contract. At present, Matti Malmberg is responsible for YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy’s Facilities Management and Building Service business in 27 localities in Finland. He has broad experience of the business management of many ABB technical servicing units in Finland since 1985. He will report to Juhani Pitkäkoski, the president of YIT Building Systems Oy.

The Baltic countries and Russia to comprise their own business area in Building Systems

The Russian and Baltic business functions of Building Systems will be separated out from YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy to form a dedicated country group as from January 1, 2006. Tapping into the attractive growth prospects of Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania entails focusing on developing business opportunities in this region. The group will be headed by Pekka Hämäläinen (53 years old), M.Sc. (Eng.). Pekka Hämäläinen will assume his new position from his present appointment as executive vice president of YIT Kiinteistötekniikka Oy. He will report to Juhani Pitkäkoski, the president of YIT Building Systems Oy.
