YIT LAUNCHES CONSTRUCTION OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN ROSTOV-ON-DON, RUSSIA

YIT has launched the construction of a residential building called Parus (the Sail in English) in Rostov-on-Don in Russia. The scheduled commissioning time is the first quarter of 2014. The residential building will have 21 storeys and 209 Comfort Class apartments with a total area of 11,894 square metres. The first and second floor will have offices with a total area of 1,270 square metres. Underground parking spaces will be built for 77 vehicles. The sales of the apartments, office premises and car spaces commenced in November.

"Recently, the demand for Comfort Class apartments has clearly picked up. Small studios and two-room apartments are the most popular ones," says Andrei Šumejev, General Director of YIT Don. "This is exactly what most of the apartments in the new residential building of YIT Don will be like. Special characteristics of the location include well-functioning layouts, state-of-the-art technical equipment and energy efficient materials, an underground car park and a doorman room on the first floor," says Mr Šumejev.

Parus will clearly stand out from the small houses around it. As a result of the building's unique architectural solution, it will be the landmark of the area. The building is situated in the city centre, right next to the park area. The area has advanced infrastructure. Grocery stores, a sports centre, a fitness centre, theatres, a school, a day care facility and a large medical centre serve the residents within walking distance.

The topmost floors of Parus have a view of the Don River that flows through the city. Rostov-on-Don, the city of Nobel author Mihail Šolohov, is located near the shore of the Sea of Azov. Rostov-on-Don is a developing hub of traffic from the north to the Caucasus Mountains, and an important centre of river traffic from the Black Sea to the inland of Russia. Rostov-on-Don is also one of the cities to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
