YIT selected to construct West Harbour’s new passenger terminal in Helsinki, Finland

YIT has been selected to carry out the project management contract for the West Harbour’s Passenger Terminal 2 in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki. The client in the project is Port of Helsinki LTD. Construction started in October, and the passenger terminal is due for completion in March 2017. The contract’s value for YIT is slightly under EUR 30 million.

The new passenger terminal will be constructed to meet the needs of increasing passenger volumes in connection with the renewal of the West Harbour. The architecture of the new passenger terminal is premium-quality and impressive, and particular attention has been paid to the environmental friendliness of the building in its design. The terminal will have good public transport connections, which will decrease the need for drop-off traffic.
