YIT has acquired a plot for a significant area development project in Bratislava, Slovakia

YIT has acquired an approximately 6 hectare plot in the city district of Ruzinov in Bratislava. The plan is to build a total of over 1,000 apartments, with total living area of around 60,000 square metres on the plot. In addition to the apartments, commercial spaces and parking lots will be built in the area. The project will be constructed in 10 phases. The start of the first phase of the project has been scheduled for 2016 and will bring over 100 apartments to the area. YIT evaluates potential investor co-operation regarding the plot investment to improve capital efficiency.

The acquired plot is located within walking distance from the city’s business district and just 15 minutes from the city centre, in a new rapidly developing area of Bratislava. The area has good public transport connections and is connected to the inner ring city highway. The aim is to develop an attractive neighbourhood with diverse services and leisure activities. The plot acquisition supports YIT’s strategy to grow its residential business in the CEE countries.
