LEMMINKÄINEN IS THE MOST EDUCATION-SUPPORTIVE WORKING COMMUNITY 2012

Lemminkäinen Talo Oy has been recognised as the Most Education-supportive Working Community of 2012. The award was presented at the Campaign for Lifelong Learning’s main event, held at the Old Student House on Wednesday, 19 September 2012.

Lemminkäinen was praised for its investments in systematic personnel training and wellbeing. Competence development is methodical, long-term and up-to-date. Lemminkäinen Talo conducts a competence analysis about 3–4 times a year. The analysis is then used to plan personnel training. Targeted training, professional degrees and proficiency training are all continually arranged for different professional groups.

“Occupational safety and wellbeing are important at Lemminkäinen. We provide systematic training for our personnel, and its favourable impact can be seen in our employees’ career paths,” says Eero Lahtinen, Lemminkäinen’s workforce and occupationalsafety manager.

Lemminkäinen engages in extensive cooperation with a variety of educational institutions. The company proactively keeps training organisers informed about everyday operations in the industry, and is also closely involved in developing training content. Those engaging in on-the-job training are also considered part of HR development. They are included in coaching and workshop groups, which also helps to prevent social exclusion.

Lemminkäinen believes that wellbeing stems from good management and is part of managers’ everyday work. A good result requires skilled, productive employees who are mentally and physically capable of carrying out their tasks. Lemminkäinen adheres to the early support model, as it’s vital to identify and prevent working capacity issues in good time.
