According to the Uudisasuntorakentaminen (Construction of new residential units) survey conducted by EPSI Rating for the largest member companies of the Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries RT, YIT’s customer satisfaction is among the highest of its segment.
The survey is used to measure how satisfied home buyers are with construction companies. The results have been recorded using an index of 0–100, 75 representing a very good level. YIT’s customer satisfaction in the survey received a score of 77.8. This result was the same as in the pilot study conducted last year (77.7).
Regarding customer satisfaction, YIT’s results are above the segment average with image and quality of service scoring even higher. According to the survey results, it is easy be a YIT customer and the company is regarded as a trustworthy operator. YIT’s customers are especially satisfied with the level of communication after moving in. Additionally, communication during the construction phase was ranked at the top of the segment.
“Customer insight is the path to good customer service, a good customer experience. In recent years, we have invested in the analysis of customer feedback and market data. A true 360-degree view on housing helps us to provide our customers with better products and to improve our customer service. I’m glad to hear that our customers find this valuable,” says Pekka Helin, Senior Vice President in charge of the Living Services development programme.
The perceived quality of YIT’s products was also high, which is represented by the results in the following parts of the survey: the construction company stayed on schedule (93.2), the apartment was flawless (77.0), level of equipment of the apartment (80.9), floor plan of the apartment (84.6) and quality of materials used (76.8). Customers also felt that they were getting value for money concerning service (80.6) and the apartment (81.0).
The result for the question “How likely would it be for you to recommend this construction company to others?” was 80.5 where the combined result for the segment was 76.4.
YIT and Lemminkäinen merged on February 1, 2018.
“The merging of two large companies brings with it many changes. We are currently working on identifying and unifying the best practices of both companies. The Uudisasuntorakentaminen (Construction of new residential units) survey conducted by EPSI Rating for the eight largest member companies of the Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries RT measures the satisfaction of home buyers with constructions companies. The study was conducted for the first time during May and June 2017. The result of the segment is the average result of the companies weighted by the volume of new residential units produced. The survey was carried out in the form of telephone interviews during March and April 2018. Almost one thousand people were interviewed.
