YIT to execute two apartment buildings for A-Kruunu in Turku Fabriikki

YIT has signed an agreement with A-Kruunu Oy for the construction of Asunto Oy Turun Fabriikin Gunnar and Asunto Oy Turun Fabriikin Giselle apartment buildings in Turku. The houses are part of YIT's regional project Turku Fabriikki. A-Kruunu is a state-owned special assignment company that commissions the construction of affordable rental apartments. The value of the contract for YIT is approximately EUR 17 million and it will be recorded in the order book for the third quarter of the year.

The ARA-funded project includes two housing companies located on their own plots. Under the decks of the yard, there will be a shared garage. The projects cover approximately 4,700 square meters of floor space and a total of 76 homes in A energy class. There are a total of 49 parking spaces. Construction will begin in September 2024 and the homes are expected to be completed at the beginning of 2026.

“You couldn't get a site to be built in Turku in a better place than this. The Fabriikki area is an unique and carefully designed entity. Our project in the design of apartments has focused on, for example, functionality, brightness and varying views. Residents' everyday life is also made easier when the location is close to good transport connections and services. At the same time, the region's business community receives affordable apartments for employees close to workplaces,” says Jari Mäkimattila, Managing Director of A-Kruunu, and thanks for the collaboration with YIT.

Fabriikki is located in the centre of Turku, in VR's former mechanical engineering area. The new homes are in the privacy of their own block and close to the services of the city centre. Logomo, the center for culture, art and creative economy, is also located in the urban area. There are good transport connections to the area, about one kilometer to the bus station and the train station, and the university is within reach in 10 minutes by bicycle.
