Helsinki City Housing Company and YIT have signed a contract for the renovation of a residential building at Kasöörinkatu 3. The value of the project is approximately EUR 17 million, and it will be recorded in the order book for the first quarter of the year 2023.
The renovation of the apartment block, which was built in 1975, will start in April 2023 and is scheduled for completion in January 2025. The block has seven floors, 132 apartments, commercial and office space, a playground and a car park.
The project aims to improve accessibility. In addition, the thermal insulation of the balcony walls will be improved, and the exhaust ventilation system will be upgraded to a supply and exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery.
"Renovation is an essential part of YIT's strategic and circular economy objectives. It allows a building to have a longer life cycle, reduces maintenance costs and increases the value of the property “, says Hannu Leander, Construction Manager, YIT.
