YIT SECURES AVINOR’S 45 AIRPORTS IN NORWAY
YIT AS, the subsidiary of YIT Group in Norway, has won a framework agreement for ID and access control systems in all of Avinor's airports. The agreement includes 45 airports and the technical centres in Asker and Oslo Control Center in Røyken.
The solution is based on the Lenel OnGuard security system which will be installed at 14 locations in 2011-2012. Then all 45 airports will be connected into a centralized network based at OSL. YIT will operate all the facilities. Estimated value of the agreement is NOK 50 million (approx. EUR 6.3 million) over the next 3-5 years.
”YIT employs many very clever people. Their combination of geographic coverage as well as their ability to share expertise crosswise were important parameters when choosing YIT”, says Ole Folkestad, responsible for security at Avinor.
Projects and services will be coordinated centrally, but executed at the airports by the immediate YIT department with security expertise.
"This is a strategically important contract for YIT. The combination of being present locally and through a national network of security specialists that are able to offer expert knowledge makes us particularly well suited to serve major customers with strict demands", said divisional manager Gunnar Eidal.
