YIT RECEIVES A SIGNIFICANT RECOVERY BOILER MODERNISATION ORDER FROM SWEDEN      

YIT Industrial Services has concluded an agreement with Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner Piteå Ab on a major recovery boiler modernisation project where the heat         delivery surfaces of the old recovery boiler will be dimensioned and rebuilt.    The modernisation of the 38-year-old boiler will improve the availability and    efficiency of the plant and increase its power generation capacity.             

YIT's engineering workshop in Varkaus will start manufacturing the parts for the recovery boiler in the new year. Once the parts have been manufactured, the      boiler installation work in Piteå will be carried out by about 150 professionals in summer 2011.                                                                 

YIT Industrial Services is increasingly concentrating on maintenance and         modernisation projects of existing boilers and pipelines, and it has this year   implemented projects for a variety of customers, including LuleKraft and Stora   Enso.                                                                           

Compared to building a completely new boiler, the modernisation of an existing   boiler can be implemented at lower investment costs, the project is completed in a shorter time, and many components can be re-used.
