YIT CORPORATION Press release, October 9, 2017, 10:00
YIT has selected Fortum as its strategic partner in producing new, intelligent housing services. The goal of this partnership is to enable the use of services, selected by the resident to make their everyday life easier, in the YIT homes of the future.
“For years, smart homes have been a key topic when discussing easier everyday life, and now the theory is finally becoming a reality. Our customers find it important to have digital services that are easy and practical to use. The Fortum SmartLiving solution has taken a major leap in these matters, which has made us very glad. We believe this partnership with Fortum gives us an excellent opportunity to develop our housing services towards an increasingly easy everyday life and future,” says Pekka Helin, Senior Vice President of the Living Services development programme at YIT.
Fortum’s SmartLiving cloud service allows residents to monitor the energy consumption of their homes in real-time, for example, as well as adjust indoor temperatures, receive alerts on potential water leakages, and make reservations for the sauna or the charging stations of electric cars.
The first YIT housing company to implement the SmartLiving service will be Asunto Oy Espoon Klovinseppä. The basic service is enabled in the homes and can be supplemented with additional packages, if desired.
“One of our strengths is our own, electronic service platform where we constantly develop new Fortum SmartLiving services. We can also integrate other housing-related services, such as the YIT Plus service of our partner, in the same platform. Thus, SmartLiving enables the resident to manage all their housing-related services in a single, mobile interface,” says Sales Director Timo Kivi from the Fortum SmartLiving unit.
The easy adaptability of the SmartLiving service platform, the resident-oriented method of use and the real-time energy monitoring make it stand out from other home automation solutions in the market. With their intelligent cloud service, YIT and Fortum wish to make the everyday lives of residents easier and to enable the residents, apartments and housing companies to form a close-knit and functional community.
A diverse solution package for intelligent housing, Smartliving also supports sustainable development and the well-being of the environment.
