YIT and Mondi Dynäs have signed a maintenance agreement under which YIT will assume responsibility for the mechanical maintenance at Mondi Dynäs AB's Väja mill, starting 1 January 2009. The plant comprises a pulp mill and two Kraft Paper lines.

In addition to developing maintenance activities, the aim is to enhance cost-efficiency and usability. In order to achieve these goals, YIT has developed an operational model in which special experts of different fields and supplier partners play a significant role.

”We are a strong provider of industrial services in the Nordic region. Through our partnership and maintenance agreements we have successfully enhanced the productivity and cost-efficiency of our customers in different fields of industry. This contract is a significant opening for us in the field of forest-industry maintenance in Sweden,” says Pekka Frantti, President of YIT Industrial Services.

”YIT aims to increase its industrial service offering in Sweden and other Nordic countries. In Sweden, we are probably best known for our building systems services, as we are the market leader in that field. We also have considerable experience in industrial piping project deliveries, electric automation implementations, as well as tank and boiler projects. Industrial maintenance complements our service offering and enables us to provide our customers with more comprehensive solutions,” Frantti points out.
