The circular economy brick won the Finland Chamber of Commerce's Sustainability Deed of the Year award

YIT has signed a project management contract with Kiinteistö Oy Myllypuron Kampus regarding the construction of Myllypuro campus project for Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. With a value of over EUR 70 million for YIT, the start-up is recorded in the order backlog in the fourth quarter. The construction will be started at the end of October or at the beginning of November. The project will be completed in two phases in July 2018 and August 2019. With a total area of approximately 56,000 square metres, the campus offers space for approximately 6,000 students and 500 employees.
City of Helsinki is having the campus built for Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The campus will be built in the core of Myllypuro, next to Ring 1 and Liikuntamylly Recreation Centre partly on top of the metro track. The campus consists of four connected buildings, where the following Metropolia operations will move in: Social Sciences and Health Care, Construction and Real Estate, University Management and Centralized Shared Services. In addition, the campus offers sports, therapy and laboratory spaces for educational needs.
