YIT builds new facilities for Mint of Finland in Vantaa, Finland

YIT is building new production and office facilities for Mint of Finland Ltd in the K3 Logistics area in Viinikkala in Vantaa. With a total area of nearly 10,000 square metres, the facilities are customised to the operational, financial and environmental needs of the leading mint in the Eurozone. Construction began in August 2012 and will be completed in the summer of 2013. Mint of Finland will be the owner of the premises.

“We wanted to update our premises to match modern needs and to enable production expansion. We studied several options and found the K3 area to be the most suitable. Through cooperation with YIT, we obtained facility solutions customised to our needs,” says Paul Gustafsson, CEO of Mint of Finland.

Viinikkala continues to develop as an industrial area

Developed by YIT, the K3 Logistics area is located between the Ring Rail Line, Runway 3 and Ring III. The facilities for Mint of Finland are the second construction project in the area, which provides diverse spaces for logistics operators. Almost 30 hectares in size, the area is ideal even for major projects.

“Mint of Finland’s project in the area shows that K3 has an excellent location and is suitable for a diverse range of needs. We are very happy to provide Mint of Finland and other operators in the area with diverse spaces in such a central location next to good connections,” says Director Jukka Hanhilahti from YIT Construction Services Finland.
