The circular economy brick won the Finland Chamber of Commerce's Sustainability Deed of the Year award
YIT Corporation Press Release May 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
Around 300 employees from WSP’s current metropolitan area offices will move to Tripla. The fast-growing company believes that its central location and ease of accessibility will support the implementation of its strategic objectives.
WSP is globally one of the world’s leading engineering and consulting companies for the built environment, operating extensively in the civil engineering, residential and industrial sectors. There are more than 48,000 WSP employees worldwide, of whom about 650 work in Finland.
The premises of civil engineering specialists are on the upper floors of Workery East, the Tripla office tower located on top of the station.
“We are confident that the best talents want to work for WSP and in Tripla. Tripla is centrally located and easily accessible to employees and customers from all over the metropolitan area, but also from other parts of the country. The environment as a whole creates an excellent framework for developing interaction with different actors. Also, the centre's energy efficiency is in line with WSP's objectives”, Managing Director Harri Yli-Villamo.
Following the contract signed with WSP, the occupancy rate of the eastern office towers rising over the station will exceed 90 per cent.
“The approaching completion of Tripla and visibility in the cityscape have boosted the demand for the remaining business premises. The service offering increases interest and improves the fluency of everyday work in Tripla,” confirms Director Tuula Klemetti from YIT.
It is a big change for WSP, but the Managing Director is confident:
“I believe our employees will be enthusiastic about the change. We are involving our employees in planning the move and the operating rules in the new environment. It will be good to get everyone under the same roof and have access to modern facilities that will contribute to even more effective cooperation within the organisation”, Yli-Villamo says.
Tripla’s Workery, expected to be completed in early 2020, will provide office space for approximately 5,000 people. The Workery office buildings at Tripla, which were designed by YIT and are currently under construction, were sold by YIT to the German real estate investment company Commerz Real in December 2018. The leasable area is approximately 50,000 square metres and the occupancy rate is already almost 87 per cent. Tripla’s Workery offices are being built to meet the standards of LEED Platinum environmental certification.
