The circular economy brick won the Finland Chamber of Commerce's Sustainability Deed of the Year award
YIT Corporation Press Release, August 21, 2018, at 10:00 A.M.
The renovation of the park is YIT’s gift to 100-year-old Finland. The renovation was carried out according to the More life in yards concept.
During the centenary of Finnish independence, YIT studied how yards could be made more comfortable and functional. The work, which included experts from different fields, was carried out in workshops and in cooperation with the public using digital crowdsourcing.
The work resulted in the More life in yards concept, which is currently utilised by YIT in planning its own area development projects.
The opening of the Sähköttäjänpuisto Park renovated by YIT will be celebrated on August 29 at 5:00–9:00 P.M. in East Pasila. The renovation of the park has been designed and carried out in accordance with the yard concept, and it is YIT’s gift to 100-year-old Finland and Finnish citizens. The park is also a thank you to the hundreds of Finns who participated in creating the More life in yards concept.
Sähköttäjänpuisto Park was selected as the renovation target in cooperation with the City of Helsinki, and, in accordance with the yard concept, the park has been divided into quiet, social and active functional areas.
The opening of the park will include an adventure track heading from one section and point to another where you can try out different hobbies, admire animals, enjoy music, have delicious treats and spend time together. As dusk falls, the highlight of the celebration will take place at 20:30 with the official opening and the Taikatulet fire show. The event is free of charge and open to all, and the programme has mainly been created by members of the public and different communities.
Media representatives are also warmly welcome at the Sähköttäjänpuisto Park opening!
