OUTOTEC TO HAVE BUSINESS PREMISES AT YIT’S BUSINESS PARK SAFIIRI IN MATINKYLÄ, ESPOO, FINLAND

On 11 November 2011, YIT Construction Ltd has signed a lease agreement with technology company Outotec for new business premises located in Matinkylä, Espoo, Finland. With the now signed agreement, Outotec leases a total of some 10,500 m² of office space from YIT. This represents about 75% of the total area of the Business Park Safiiri that is being constructed according to YIT’s EnergyGenius concept. At the same time, Outotec also leased business premises from Peab Oy in the Eventes Business Garden to be constructed next to Safiiri.

Business Park Safiiri will be constructed in two phases by the Länsiväylä motorway, right next to the Iso Omena shopping mall. The construction work for the first phase of Safiiri is already underway and will be completed in March 2012. The second phase will start in March 2012 and will be completed in June 2013. The total floor area of this new building complex will be about 14,000 m². According to the agreement, Outotec will occupy over half of the premises of the first phase and all of the business premises of the second phase. Other tenants occupying the Business Park Safiiri include HUS (the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa), FIT1 Fitnessclub and Delicatessen Ravintolat.

“The Outotec lease agreement is the third major lease YIT has concluded in the capital region during the last 12 months. The agreement also secured the start of our next office project, phase two of Safiiri, which will further strengthen our position on the office premises market of the capital region. We are also applying for the international LEED environmental certificate for Safiiri,” says Jarkko Pakkala, head of YIT’s Office construction services unit.
