The course is located on the plot of the future Atomi comprehensive school. The course will be open for at least a year.
A new commuter sports venue has opened for the residents of Vantaa Lentola on June 1st.
Lentola's 9 hole disc golf course is also suitable for beginners and is located at the corner of Rälssitie and Äyritie, on the plot of the future Atomi comprehensive school. Anyone can freely use the course and it will be open possibly for a few years, depending on the construction schedule for the comprehensive school.
Lentola is a residential area under construction in Aviapolis, Vantaa, within walking distance of the Jumbo shopping centre. To date, YIT has built six apartment buildings in the area, and four more apartment buildings are currently under construction.
When completed in 2035, Lentola will have about 3,000 apartments, two daycare centres, a park, five parking garages and a comprehensive school. With peaceful courtyards, Lentola will offer its residents an easy life and fun everyday living.
The whole Aviapolis area, on the other hand, will become a pedestrian block city of 25,000 residents and 60,000 jobs in the next few years.
However, Lentola and its surrounding areas are mainly known for the jobs located there. There is a plan to put a sign at the starting point of the disc golf course for people to learn about the area and its immediate future to indicate the ongoing transformation.
"Lentola is a diverse residential area that attracts a wide range of age groups, and we want to participate in the development of the community in the area. The disc golf course is one example of this. We will distribute discs to the housing companies in the area to make playing as easy as possible and to encourage people to exercise," says YIT Vice President Heikki K. Hannukkala.
"We are pleased with YIT's active work in implementing Lentola and building the community. Aviapolis and also Lentola are the gateway to the future of Vantaa: a new diverse urban centre for residents, services and companies," says Arja Lukin, Project Manager for the City of Vantaa.
Although the construction of the area is still in progress, all the key services can already be found in the surrounding area. Lentola's central location and good transport connections also ensure that purchasing a home in the area is a smart choice.
