YIT to provide HVAC systems for the Mistelbach-Gänserndorf hospital in Austria

In collaboration with GETEC, YIT Austria GmbH will be supplying the heating, cooling and ventilation systems for the planned expansion and renovation work at the Mistelbach-Gänserndorf hospital in Austria. The project should be completed by 2016. The contract with VAMED covers approx. 54,000m² of gross floor area with 3 underground levels, 5 above-ground floors and a helipad.

A new building will house the operating rooms and intensive care centre, a family centre with pediatric wards, as well as gynecology and obstetrics. There will also be a new building for a nurses’ station for internal medicine. The existing outpatient department and emergency care unit will also be renovated.

YIT will be installing a total of 41 ventilation systems, 3.0 MW heating systems, and 2.2 MW cooling systems. To keep energy consumption and operating costs to a minimum, heat recovery systems that recycle approximately 65% of the generated heat will also be used.

YIT has extensive experience when it comes to hospital projects, thanks in large part to various projects that have been carried out for VAMED, both in Austria and abroad.
