YIT to construct a grocery store for Lidl in Espoo, Finland

YIT has signed a contract with Lidl Suomi Ky to carry out a Lidl grocery store in Nöykkiö, Espoo. The construction of the store will begin immediately and it will be completed in the spring of 2017. The sales area of the store will be around 1,400 square metres.

The Lidl grocery store will be built in Espoo in the area between the Länsiväylä expressway and Martinsillantie road where YIT constructed the MotorCenter project, which was completed in spring 2014. The store will be built on YIT’s plot that will be transferred to Lidl’s ownership once the agreement is completed.

“The Lidl store to be built will complete the service offering in the area and add to the shared customer synergy of the companies operating in the area,” says Heikki K. Hannukkala, Vice President at YIT.

“Our customer flow is growing in the entire Helsinki metropolitan area, and we are pleased that we can open a new store in Espoo. In order to serve our customers even better than before, we are interested in having store locations in growth centres,” says Virpi Kaikkonen, Director of Development at Lidl Suomi.
