YIT signs contract with HUS Kiinteistöt for the implementation phase of new eye hospital

YIT has signed a contract with HUS Kiinteistöt Oy for the implementation phase of the new Tammisairaala eye hospital. The hospital, connected to the Meilahti campus, will be built utilising a cooperative project management contract model. The value of the project is approximately EUR 120 million, which will be recorded in the company’s order book for the first quarter of 2021. The signed Implementation Contract was preceded by a development phase that lasted about a year.

Tammisairaala will have 200 outpatient clinic rooms, 15 operating theatres, a 12-bed inpatient ward, an instruments and equipment maintenance centre and other support facilities as well as a parking hall for approximately 100 cars. The total floor area of the hospital building will be approximately 35,000 square metres. 

The Tammisairaala hospital will be completed in the summer 2024. Construction work on the site, located between Paciuksenkatu street and Zaidankatu street, has already started with preparatory work.
