YIT signs contract for the Tiistilä school and daycare centre implementation phase

YIT and the City of Espoo have signed a contract regarding the implementation phase of Tiistilä’s school and daycare centre in Espoo. The project will be carried out as a project management contract, and its value to YIT is approximately EUR 40 million. The contract will be included in the order book of the last quarter.

Construction will begin in January 2022, and the project is set to be completed in the summer of 2024.

The gross area of the wooden school and daycare centre property is over 12,000 square metres. The school will accommodate 990 students and 110 staff members. There will also be 168 places for early childhood education.

We build safe and healthy facilities that are in line with the new curriculum. The efficient use, functionality and adaptability of the facilities have been at the heart of the planning.

Design solutions and material choices aim to fulfil YIT's and the City of Espoo’s carbon neutral and sustainable development goals. Planning has particularly focused on energy efficiency during the property’s life cycle.
