YIT signs a contract for the implementation phase of a business premises project with Savo Consortium for Education

YIT and Savo Consortium for Education (Sakky) have signed an implementation phase contract for the construction of Sakky’s new premises in the Savilahti area in Kuopio, Finland. The project is based on a cooperative project management contract and its total value for YIT is over EUR 62 million. The contract will be entered in the order backlog of the first quarter of the year.

Prior to the implementation phase, YIT was involved in the development phase of the project, which started in January 2019. YIT’s respective press release was published on January 11, 2019.

The project includes three interconnected new buildings, totaling 26,000 square metres. The buildings will house teaching and office space and a restaurant world with a teaching kitchen. Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification will be sought for the buildings, and they will satisfy the Healthy Building criteria set out by the Finnish Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2022.
