YIT has been chosen as the builder of the additional wing of the T-hospital in the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland. The project will be implemented in Turku as a project management contract. The agreement will be concluded in January 2024. The estimated total value of the construction contract for YIT is approximately EUR 40 million.
The project encompasses the new construction of the T-hospital’s additional wing, including all necessary acquisitions, to be fully ready for use. The work will start in January 2024 and is scheduled for completion in early spring 2027. The project includes approximately 8,700 square metres of functional space for hospital operations, and the gross floor area of the new building is around 16,300 square metres. In addition, an ambulance garage, office extension and internal modifications to surrounding properties will be made to the building. The earthworks that the project work requires are demanding. Only renewably generated electricity will be used on the site during construction.
“The project aims to improve the operating conditions for specialised care in the Tyks Hospital area. YIT has previously partnered in the construction of the T-Hospital,” says Timo Seppälä, Real Estate Director at Varha.
“Hospital construction and the building of demanding user environments are among YIT’s particular areas of expertise, and we have extensive experience in these fields. We build healthy, safe and sustainable properties to ensure the functioning of essential services in society,” says Southwest Finland Regional Director Jyrki Meri.
