YIT and Pohjola Insurance have agreed on collaboration and the construction of a business property in Tampere

YIT and Pohjola Insurance have signed a collaboration agreement on the construction of a business property as a turnkey construction contract in Hatanpää, Tampere. Pohjola Insurance is the developer and owner of the property. The long-term lease of the space has been agreed with a Finnish company. The scope of the project is about 10,000 gross square meters. The building will house office space on five floors. In the project, YIT acts as the project development company and principal contractor. The parties have agreed that the transaction value will not be published.

In addition, the project involves the construction of a parking facility in the same block. Some of the parking spaces will be used by the neighboring properties, with the facility making parking arrangements in the area easier and more efficient.

"This new project meets the investment needs of Pohjola Insurance, which has a long-term investment plan. The investment will develop the operating conditions of a strong user company in Tampere, while also creating new jobs in the region,” said Markku Mäkiaho, Director of OP Real Estate Asset Management Ltd.

Plans will be developed in collaboration with the user, and the prerequisites for project implementation will be ensured before the final implementation phase agreement and lease agreement are signed, which is planned to take place in the summer of 2025. The goal is to start the construction of the project entity at the beginning of 2026.
