KIM GRAN PROPOSED FOR YIT CORPORATION'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS                      

YIT Corporation shareholders representing more than 20% of the company's shares  and votes will propose to YIT's Annual General Meeting, which will be held on    March 13, 2008, that the following persons be elected to the Board of Directors: as Chairman Reino Hanhinen, M.Sc. (Eng.), as Vice Chairman Eino Halonen, M.Sc.   (Econ.), and as members, Kim Gran, President and CEO, Antti Herlin, Chairman of  Board of Directors, and Teuvo Salminen, Deputy CEO. All the nominees have given  their consent.                                                                  

With the exception of Kim Gran, the nominees are currently members of YIT's      Board of Directors.                                                             

Kim Gran, M.Sc. (Econ.) (53) has acted as President and CEO of Nokian Tyres plc  since 2000. Prior to that he has served as Vice President of Nokian Tyres        1995-2000 and in UK as Managing Director of Pechiney Cebal 1992-1995 and as      Plant Director of Cebal-Printal 1988-1995.
