LEMMINKÄINEN TO BUILD A GRADED INTERCHANGE IN KEMPELE

Lemminkäinen and the Finnish Transport Agency have signed an agreement on the construction of a new graded interchange in connection with the Zatelliitti business centre in Kempele, Finland. Construction work is due to start in May 2017 and will be completed in November 2018. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 10.5 million.

The contract includes the construction of a graded interchange in connection with the Zatelliitti business centre, between the Kempele and Ouluntulli junctions on Finnish National Road 4 south of Oulu. The graded interchange will comprise four bridges, ramps for the Zatelliitintie and Kokkokankaantie road exits, as well as pedestrian and bicycle connections to public transport stops.

The graded interchange will provide a direct connection to the Zatelliitti business centre from National Road 4 and improve the flow and safety of traffic. The contract is part of the Kempele–Kello motorway project aimed at improving the connection between Oulu and Kemi.
