Lemminkäinen to renovate streets in St Petersburg

LEMMINKÄINEN TO RENOVATE STREETS IN ST PETERSBURG

Lemminkäinen and The Committee on the state order of St Petersburg have agreed on renovation of streets in Moskovsky district of St Petersburg. The value of the contract is a bit under EUR 7 million. The work will begin on July and will be completed by the end of September 2014.

The contract covers 196,000 sq.m.of road network in the district and 69,000 sq.m. of pavements which will be repaved. The work requires more than 60,000 tonnes of asphalt.

"We have a wide experience of state-guaranteed orders fulfilment, particularly in the field of road construction and asphalt paving repair works. This is because our asphalt products are very high-quality, and we are able to handle the project as agreed with the customer, for example keeping the timetables. Currently we are carrying out the renovation of the Moscow road A108 and bridges near Moscow," says Maaret Heiskari, Executive Vice President at Lemminkäinen.

Moskovsky district is situated in the South-West of St Petersburg. It is the largest industrial and residential area of the city and there are the biggest traffic flows in the city. For example, international airport Pulkovo is located there.
