Lemminkäinen signs road maintenance contract in Western Norway

LEMMINKÄINEN SIGNS ROAD MAINTENANCE CONTRACT IN WESTERN NORWAY

Lemminkäinen has signed a five-year-contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Statens Vegvesen, for the service and maintenance of the road network in Nordhordland County in Western Norway. The contract begins on 1 September 2013 and includes an option for an additional year. The value of the contract is around EUR 35 million.

The road maintenance contract comprises the municipalities of Lindås, Meland, Radøy, Austrheim, Fedje, Masfjorden and Gulen, in addition to parts of the municipalities of Høyanger and Bergen. In total, the contract covers over 850 km of roads. Part of the road network is located in challenging terrain, such as coast and mountain areas as well as tunnels. Lemminkäinen will ensure that roads are both passable and safe all year around.
