LEMMINKÄINEN REPAIRS THE KANNELMÄKI-MYYRMÄKI TRACK SECTION

Lemminkäinen will renew the superstructure of the Vantaankoski railway track between Kannelmäki and Myyrmäki, in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The client is the Finnish Transport Agency, and the contract is valued at EUR 7.7 million. Work will begin in May and is scheduled for completion in October.

The length of the renovated track section that will be renovated is three kilometres. The contract comprises the replacement of waterproofing elements in the Piijoki railway bridge in Kannelmäki and the Myyrmäki station. Being the second-longest railway bridge in Finland, the Piijoki bridge measures 530 metres in length.

The renovation work in the Kannelmäki-Myyrmäki track section will affect traffic in the Vantaankoski track, which is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area local traffic network. Every effort will be undertaken to perform the renovation flexibly, causing as little inconvenience to passengers as possible. The Finnish Transport Agency will inform about any exceptional traffic arrangements at its Finnish website at www.liikennevirasto.fi, for instance.
