Mehiläinen Care Home, constructed by Lemminkäinen, topped out in Kajaani

MEHILÄINEN CARE HOME, CONSTRUCTED BY LEMMINKÄINEN, TOPPED OUT IN KAJAANI

The topping out ceremonies for Care Home Mehiläinen will be held on 20 January 2012.

Construction work on the care home erected in the Teppana neighbourhood in Kajaani began in June 2011. The construction work has proceeded on schedule. The care home will have 65 flats, and the first residents will be able to move in during March–April 2012. The site will be completed in three stages: the first 16 flats will be completed on 16 March 2012, the next 16 flats on 31 May 2012, and the remaining 33 on 28 September 2012. Lemminkäinen is the project’s contractor, also responsible for the building’s HVAC and sprinkler installations. During the construction phase, the site has an average of 30 employees.

The developer for Care Home Mehiläinen is EPI Healthcare I Ky and it will be operated by Carema Oy, a subsidiary of Mehiläinen Oy. The building was designed by Arkkitehtitoimisto Klemetti Oy, and its structural engineering was done by Suunnittelutoimisto Määttä Oy. Electrical wiring design and work is handled by Paikallis-Sähkö Oy and HVAC design by LVI-suunnittelutoimisto Kaiplan Ky.
