LEMMINKÄINEN WINS PAVING CONTRACTS IN NORWAY AND DENMARK

Lemminkäinen has signed three new agreements for paving contracts in Norway. Two of the contracts were ordered by Skanska. In the third, the client is AF-Gruppen. The first of the contracts to be carried out for Skanska concerns the E18 road in Vestfold. This is a three-year contract with a volume of 124,000 tonnes. The second of the Skanska contracts is for the Gardermoen airport and has a volume of 20,000 tonnes. The agreement made with AF-Gruppen is for a three-year contract with a volume of 85,000 tonnes. This site is in Bergen.

In Denmark, Lemminkäinen will carry out two paving contracts for Strabag. Both of the sites are located in the Jutland peninsula – one in Sunds and the other in the Vejle region. The volume of the former contract is 25,000 tonnes and that of the latter 117,000 tonnes.

The total volume of the paving contracts landed in Norway and Denmark is 229,000 tonnes and they are valued at about EUR 28 million.

"Lemminkäinen is the leading player in mineral aggregates and paving in the Nordic countries. The company has engaged in paving operations in Norway and Denmark since 2001. The contracts we have won in Norway and Denmark show that Lemminkäinen is a preferred partner among infrastructure construction companies," says Timo Vikström, Senior Vice President at Lemminkäinen.

Nordic infrastructure construction is one of Lemminkäinen's strategic growth areas. The company seeks to increase net sales from infrastructure construction in Norway, Denmark and Sweden by a total of about EUR 100 million in 2012-2013.
