Lemminkäinen wins another main road renovation contract in Russia

LEMMINKÄINEN WINS ANOTHER MAIN ROAD RENOVATION CONTRACT IN RUSSIA

Lemminkäinen has won another significant renovation contract of the M4 road in Russia. This one, close to Moscow, covers a 16-kilometre stretch, with renovation involving milling and repaving of the road. The contract was ordered by Avtodor, a Russian state-owned enterprise managing the key main roads in Russia. The total value of Lemminkäinen’s contract is EUR 14 million.

The project requires 110,000 tonnes of asphalt, produced by Lemminkäinen at a fixed asphalt plant in Moscow. "This project is a significant continuation of the first renovation contract on the M4 road, launched by Lemminkäinen in the spring," says Leo Kaariniemi, Area Director for Russia at Lemminkäinen.

In April, Lemminkäinen began milling, repaving and auxiliary work on a 46-kilometre stretch of road in cooperation with DSO1, the project's main contractor. Both worksites are located in the vicinity of Moscow, and are only 23 kilometres apart.
