LEMMINKÄINEN WINS A CONTRACT TO BUILD A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN TAMPERE

Lemminkäinen has secured a contract for the construction of a residential building in the Niemenranta area in Tampere. The building will be built under a contractual arrangement known as 'a French contract', whereby the commissioner of the project determines the price level with suppliers competing on the basis of quality. The house, a six-storey low-energy building named VTS-Aurinkokurki, has been commissioned by Tampereen Vuokratalosäätiö, a development foundation for tenant housing. Already underway, construction is scheduled for completion at the end of 2013. The total value of the contract is about EUR 7 million.

VTS-Aurinkokurki will have 65 apartments, with a combined floor space of 3,389.5 m². The project will benefit from an interest subsidy, enabling a lower rent level compared with non-subsidised tenant housing.
