LEMMINKÄINEN CORPORATION                    PRESS RELEASE 12 MAY 2011 AT 3:30 p.m.

LEMMINKÄINEN WINS MAJOR ELECTRIFICATION CONTRACT FOR KEVITSA MINE

Lemminkäinen has won a major electrification contract from Kevitsa Mining Oy, for the Kevitsa nickel and copper concentrate mine in Sodankylä. The customer is a subsidiary of the Canadian mining company First Quantum Minerals Ltd. The value of the contract is approximately nine million euros. This new contract is a continuation of the earthworks and concrete construction contracts won by Lemminkäinen in July and November 2010 at the Kevitsa mine.

The contract includes electrification of forthcoming production plant´s power installation, instrument installation and building electrical systems. Work at the site will begin immediately and the project is scheduled for completion at the end of October 2011. The project will employ some 70 people. Combined, the Lemminkäinen contracts at Kevitsa will offer employment to almost 300 people.

"This project, which is challenging both in terms of its scheduling and content, is the largest single industrial electrification project for our Technical Building Services business sector. It will provide the company with an entry into the mining industry. In addition, it will form an excellent basis for offering our services for other forthcoming projects in the newly invigorated mining sector", states Kari Jussi-Pekka, Regional Director of Lemminkäinen Technical Building Services.

FQML was granted permits to open the Kevitsa mine, located 43 kilometres north of Sodankylä, in November 2009. The construction project began in spring 2010 and the mine is expected to enter the production phase in 2012. The mine produces nickel PGE concentrate and copper concentrate.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd, a growing mining and metals company, is engaged in mineral exploration, development, mining and refining. First Quantum's shares are listed for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada and the London Stock Exchange in the United Kingdom. First Quantum is a member of the S&P/TSX 60 index.
