Etra Oy logistics centre, constructed by Lemminkäinen, reaches full height

On 4 February 2011, Etra Oy, a branch of the Etola Group, will hold the topping out celebration for its Hämeenlinna logistics centre. The facility is being constructed by Lemminkäinen and will be completed in late April.

The logistics centre is on a highly visible site in the Moreeni industrial area, right beside the Helsinki–Tampere motorway. The building will boast 20,000 square metres of floor space (gross area), 242,000 cubic metres of space, and storage with 10.5 metres of free height. The sizeable lot of 11 hectares allows for the building’s further expansion.

The Hämeenlinna logistics centre will provide services for Etra Oy’s industrial product retail and distribution network. Etra operates 37 Etra Megacenters, at various locations, throughout Finland.

The Etola Group is a conglomerate of approximately 30 companies that focuses on the import, manufacture, and marketing of products for the needs of construction and other industries. The Etola interior decoration and home product retail chain and boating equipment marketing company Oy Maritim Ab are also part of this business group. The turnover of the Etola Group is approximately €400 million per year, and the total number of staff is 1,450.

Lemminkäinen has already built logistics centres in the Hämeenlinna Moreeni area for Tammertukku Oy, Nanso Group Oy, and Iittala Group Oy. Lemminkäinen is currently in the process of building a ‘MegaHub’ logistics centre and a beverage can factory for the Polish Can-Pack SA in the area.
