LEMMINKÄINEN IS REPLUMBING 840 APARTMENTS IN THE OLD VUOSAARI DISTRICT OF
HELSINKI

Lemminkäinen Group's Oy Alfred A. Palmberg Ab is starting on the replumbing and
bathroom refurbishment of As Oy Säästökari in the old Vuosaari district of
Helsinki. The housing company comprises four apartment buildings, and the
contract involves refurbishing the bathrooms of 189 units as well as replumbing
their water and sewer pipes.

”Including the As Oy Säästökari contract, our company now has replumbing and
bathroom refurbishments at different stages of competition in 840 apartments in
the old Vuosaari district of Helsinki,” says Oy Alfred A. Palmberg Ab's
director of refurbishment contracting, Kalevi Stenman.

Oy Alfred A. Palmberg Ab is now putting the finishing touches to one of
Finland's biggest ever replumbing and bathroom refurbishment projects in the
district of Vuosaari. New bathrooms and plumbing fixtures have been fitted to
651 apartments in 21 separate buildings of the As Oy Säästöpurje housing
company. The work is in the finishing straight and will be completed at the
beginning of 2010.

Refurbishment contracting is one of Lemminkäinen's growth areas. It has been
estimated that 15,000 housing units will be in need of refurbishment annually
in Finland in the next decade.

”For the most part, Finland's residential housing stock is well built, so its
refurbishment is well worthwhile. Improved comfort of the home environment is
the most important benefit for residents. A modernised property also makes good
economic sense: it consumes less energy and less water. Building repair and
refurbishment plays a key role in the protection of our national wealth,” says
Stenman.
