LEMMINKÄINEN CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 9.9.2009, 9.30 LEMMINKÄINEN AGREES SALE OF PROPERTY FOR THE FINNISH AGENCY FOR RURAL AFFAIRS TO ETERA MUTUAL PENSION INSURANCE COMPANY Lemminkäinen Group's Oy Konte Ab has sold the property being built for the Finnish Agency for Rural Affairs to Etera Mutual Pension Insurance Company. Konte is constructing new premises for the government agency at Alvar Aallon katu 5 in Seinäjoki. The City of Seinäjoki will also have premises in the same building. The property as a whole has a floor area of 6,413 square metres, of which the Finnish Agency for Rural Affairs will occupy 3,900 square metres. The remainder will consist of the City of Seinäjoki's premises as well as common areas of the building. "It's great that the buyer is a Finnish real estate investor. For Konte, the construction contract has been most welcome in the present economic climate. The project will provide employment for almost 30 construction and HEVAC professionals over a period of about 18 months. Also from the design and subcontracting standpoint, the project will have an significant impact on construction sector employment in the Seinäjoki area," says the Managing Director of Oy Konte Ab, Mr. Tom Ekman. Construction work on the new premises of the Finnish Agency for Rural Affairs began at the beginning of September, and the building will be completed in early 2011. "Seinäjoki is a rapidly developing provincial centre. We at Etera were interested in the property because of its excellent location in the centre of Seinäjoki. The fact that the entire building is leased on long-term agreements to the Finnish State and the City of Seinäjoki is icing on the cake. A pension insurance company invests for the long term and looks for stable returns, so this property suited us very well indeed," explains Etera's Head of Real Estate, Mr. Timo Sotavalta.
