Heikki Pentti, Chairman of Lemminkäinen´s Board of Directors, has passed away

HEIKKI PENTTI, CHAIRMAN OF LEMMINKÄINEN'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS, HAS PASSED AWAY   

Heikki Pentti, long-serving Chairman of Lemminkäinen Corporation's Board of     
Directors and the Company's biggest shareholder, passed away on 19 April 2008   
after a serious illness.                                                        

Heikki Pentti was a Director of the Company for 39 years. He served as the      
Company's Managing Director in the years 1983-1993 and as the Chairman of the   
Board of Directors from 1994 onwards. During his era, Lemminkäinen grew and     
internationalised successfully.                                                 

Heikki Pentti was a highly respected and influential figure in Finnish industry 
and business. He passed away at the age of 61 years.                            

The duties of the Chairman of the Board will be assumed by Berndt Brunow,       
M.Sc.(Econ.), who has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2002.
