Slovakia is among the fastest-developing countries in the European Union. Industry is the most important business segment of the Slovakian economy, accounting for approximately one fourth of the economy. The country's economy has also grown thanks to the international automotive industry. Skodas, VW Touaregs, Porsche Cayennes and Audi Q7s are manufactured at least partly in Bratislava.

YIT's work safety animation was awarded in the US International Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles. The animation was made to support YIT's Russian work safety and prevent serious accidents.

Winners of contest "The most energy efficient building in Latvia" have been announced. The real estate developer SIA "YIT Celtnieciba" was awarded. Housing project Bikerziedi, 4th house got 2nd place in category "Most energy efficient new apartment building in Latvia 2015".

The wealthy middle class of Prague is intrigued by well-designed, composedly Nordic and efficient houses. Prague is one of YIT's most promising targets in Eastern Europe.

YIT Reding, the subsidiary of YIT in Slovakia was selected second year in a row as a Developer of the Year in the ASB Gala in Slovakia. The prestigious ASB GALA is organized by the magazine ASB in collaboration with TREND weekly. Prizes are awarded annually for the individuals and companies in the fields of architecture and construction reflecting the recent developments in the industry.

The sculpture is expected to remind of the close and successful cultural, political and business cooperation between Finland and Lithuania. President Ms. Dalia Grybauskaité and President Ms. Tarja Halonen took part in opening ceremony.

YIT's occupational safety animation won two awards at the World Media Festival organised in Hamburg, Germany on May 6: the animation won the Intermedia Globe Gold award in the Safety series of the Training category, as well as the Grand Award, the second-highest award in the entire competition, as the best training video.
